Smart Salt Recovery

Smart Salt Recovery

Salt therapy is a relatively unknown, natural treatment that’s improving the lives of many. From alleviating symptoms of the dreaded cold and flu, to unwinding from the stresses of the day, salt therapy offers many benefits to both the mind and body.

Today I share my experience with this wonderful treatment and how you too can benefit from a Smart Salt Recovery session.

WE’D LOVE TO KNOW HOW YOU GOT INTO SALT THERAPY…
I'd been running Smart Analysis for six years and through that business, I came across a lot of clients with skin issues during their consultations. With a background in beauty therapy and a keen interest in the skin, I wanted to do MORE for my clients, but it wasn’t until I began researching various natural therapies to support my husband (who at the time was suffering from symptoms of extreme hayfever), that I discovered salt therapy—also known as halotherapy.

During my research, I learned how popular salt therapy was—in particular on the east coast of Australia—and after some convincing, my husband and I decided to check it out in the hopes of alleviating his symptoms and frustration! Although he was sceptical at first, my husband noticed his hay fever symptoms eased drastically after his very first salt therapy session and we were convinced this was a treatment that worked.

When we decided to relocate and expand our business, we wanted to offer salt therapy as a service, so others could experience the amazing benefits and results we had. Our focus was to ensure we could cater to all different age groups, as well as various respiratory and skin needs, which is why we created both a private, group and a children's room at our centre.

WHAT CONDITIONS DOES SALT THERAPY HEAL AND HOW CAN IT AID THE HEALING PROCESS?

Salt therapy can help a range of different inflammatory conditions associated with the immune system including both respiratory and skin conditions.

Most recently, our main clientele has been children and adults getting over COVID, as salt therapy can help to boost immunity and get rid of lingering coughs and runny noses. Asthmatics also see incredible results with regular salt therapy sessions, and we’ve even heard of clients who after only a few sessions, find they don’t need to rely on their asthma inhaler as much for support.

People are prioritising their mental health much more these days too, and so we’ve found some clients just like to escape from the outside world for a bit and spend some downtime in our beautiful group salt room.

CAN PEOPLE BENEFIT FROM SALT THERAPY EVEN IF THEY’RE NOT SUFFERING FROM AN ILLNESS OR CONDITION?

Most definitely! Ideally, it's good to have salt therapy once a week during the winter season for the prevention of colds as it helps provide your immune system with the extra boost that it needs. This obviously depends on each individual's immunity levels, but if you find you get sick every year during the winter seasons, we would suggest you visit us prior to this—for 4-5 sessions relatively close together—to keep the cold and flu away!

The same goes for hayfever—if you're one who suffers seasonally, we advise that you start salt therapy just before the hayfever season to help prevent it.

It's also nice to allow yourself 45 minutes to switch off and unwind in a massage chair while breathing in the healing salty air—nothing beats it.

WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU OFFER OUTSIDE OF SALT THERAPY?

I started the Smart Analysis business eight years ago now and we’re proud to offer a multitude of services including InBody 570 Body Composition Scans along with health consultations and coaching. All of these services are available in our wellness centre, but we also provide a mobile service where we visit gyms, sporting clubs and various businesses providing team engagement and educational sessions around health and well-being.

Lymphatic drainage is a popular service at our wellness centre and we use Normatec suits with a variety of hip, leg and arm attachments for our clients to choose from, based on their specific needs. This treatment can be enjoyed whilst laying back in a recliner chair, sipping on an organic herbal tea and catching up on your favourite show.
